I'm looking for Ruby on Rails programmers who can help me refactor my site faster, find & fix bugs, add tests etc.
The idea of the site is simple - users create/edit/delete their items, schedule them (will explain later), and do a few other things.
Site is in production and is working fine. All user functionality is completed.
Most important things are tested (not everything though because sometimes I didn't do TDD).
I want to make sure it's perfect before we get heavy traffic.
All I want you to do is fork my code on GitHub, and do any changes you think have to be done.
Since it's hard to tell right away who will do a good work - I will give everyone a chance.
So when your place your price per hour - also send me your GitHub username to private chat.
I will add you to the GitHub team, so that you can fork the code, see the known issues etc.
From that point - it will be up to you to find anything that needs to be improved and fix it (mostly add tests, refactor, or find&fix bugs).
After you do a pull request to commit your changes, maybe we will discuss them a little bit, and I merge them to main repo - I will pay you using Paypal or any other convenient service.
Since there is no direct way I can track your hours, I prefer to make an assumption how many hours you spent by looking at your code.
Hope that's ok - I try to be as fair as possible.
You can think of it as "payment per improvement", "payment per bug fixed" or "payment per useful pull request".
So the more bugs you find & fix - the higher is your income.
I have no deadlines, but you have deadlines, because if other developer finds and fixes a big before you find it - he will get a reward and you will have to look for another bug.
The project is not that big or complex.
I was working on it for a few months myself, but it is my first Rails app.
I was just adding functionality as long as I learned more about Rails.
So about 15 models and controllers, maybe 5 of which have the most code, others are simple.
Pretty sure you can easily figure it out.
I just need someone's fresh view because after few months of working on it I ran out of ideas how to improve it.

Hello, I am a computer programmer with 8 years of experience as a web developer. Primarily, I've worked with Java, however I also have 2 years of professional experience with Ruby, which I enjoyed immensely. Outside of work, I also enjoy experimenting and playing around with other programming languages, especially Haskell and Smalltalk. Because of this, I adapt fairly easily to whatever language I choose to work with, and I have a broad conceptual base for software architecture ideas.
