The purpose of AccentPros' idiom series, a regular feature of our professional blog at [url removed, login to view], is to educate visitors on the origins of frequently used informal and business idioms in 100-300 word miniature articles.
3 idioms are included per blog post and based around a central theme such as technology. The general layout for an idiom post includes the the keyword in the heading (Ex: accent reduction idiom 1___ accent reduction idiom 2___ etc.) followed by a brief 1-2 sentence description of the idiom in layman's terms and an example sentence showing the idiom being used in proper context.
The idiom origin, constituting the majority of each article, comes last. While we prefer the idiom origin portion of each entry to maintain a professional tone, if you wish the example sentences can have more of a humorous slant provided the humor isn't vulgar or crude. Regardless of which approach is taken, the goal is to realistically portray how the idiom would come up in everyday conversation without sounding contrived.
Please include links to references from your research and link(s) to 1-2 pictures that would complement each idiom in your post. Pictures should come from [url removed, login to view] or [url removed, login to view] with a cost of 1 or 2 credits.
Please use one of the following as the main keyword in this project: accent pronunciation, get rid of accent, American accent, get American accent, accent training
