TERMS OF REFERENCE: Google Search Engine Optimization Specialist

Organization: Special Unit for South-South Cooperation in United Nations Development Programme

Post Title: Google Search Engine Optimization Specialist (part-time)

A. Background

Global South-South Development Academy (GSSDA) is a global partnership initiative to promote added value to south-south cooperation. It enables development partners to systematically identify, document and catalogue development solutions for global validation and mutual learning.

The GSSD Academy operates through a broad institutional partnership and a uniformed methodology and system which include a broad-based peer review and validation process. The Academy aims to identify, document and catalogue Southern-grown development solutions and expertise. This platform also offers a common Experts Roster Domain that enables partner organizations and countries to create and manage their own expert rosters. Current efforts include consolidation of Southern centres of excellence in South-South and triangular cooperation and cross-cutting issues such as oil and gas, the creative economy and taxation.

B. Scope of work

Under the supervision of the chief for Knowledge management and Programme, the Google Search Engine Optimization Specialist improves the functionality of Global South-South Development Academy website, web applications and web services. The Google Search Engine Optimization Specialist will work closely with web manager to improve and update the web-based Global South-South Development Academy platform, particularly in Google Search Engine Optimization.

This role will be responsible for the tactical operations of search engine optimization (SEO) for GSSDA. The position will be responsible for reviewing, implementing and improving our operations within this region and will be managed to specific operational metrics. Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

â?¢ Improve current Google custom search/ Google site search result, specifically, customize the Google site search result.

â?¢ Analysis of various performance metrics to identify issues and areas of opportunity at a site infrastructure, landing page and keyword level.

â?¢ Keyword research, on-page SEO and conversion optimization for individual pages and landing page templates.

â?¢ Optimizing internal linking structures to maximize rankings across our keyword portfolio.

â?¢ Implementing, managing and expanding link building campaigns by utilizing varied approaches to link building.

â?¢ Contribute to and manage ad-hoc project requests for improved performance.

â?¢ Perform pre & post Implementation reviews of all significant changes to assess their effectiveness.

â?¢ Drive an ideation process to address the identified needs above

â?¢ Measure and analyze the impact of projects and tactical improvements.

â?¢ Research and analyze to iteratively improve SEO performance
