Project Description

We are a flower and gift shop that needs to use customized google maps functions:

1. show how many orders we have in each Hong Kong districts visually on google maps (each day we have a list of google map friendly addresses) . we want to able to view at 3 levels:

A) at the top level, the google map has 3 big colored regions of Hong Kong (Hong Kong, Kowloon, New Territories), the middle of each colored region with district name and a big number representing number of orders in that region.

B) at the second level, we can go one level below the top 3 regions, and see orders in each electoral district (around 20 in Hong Kong), that is how google map currently already organizes the districts when you click on drop down on left of google map.

C) at the lowest level, we just want pins of each delivery location marked. Each day we have a max of 400 orders.

2. much simpler, the same 1A and 1B maps from above, but instead of providing a set of address to see how many's in each region, we directly provide text we want to display in each region (such as "ALL DELIVERED", "3%", "$80HKD delivery charge", etc)

For requirement 1 and 2 above, we need automatic programmable ways to make update (including colors we want to color each region), we do not want to manually use google maps frontend tools to customize each map. We have inhouse programmers that know standard web programming and our website is served with our own Ruby on Rails server running MySQL, so we can co-ordinate on how we need to integrate data or how to call google maps api, etc.
