Using mobile scanner with Android & iPhone via Bluetooth

Application: FBAScout ([url removed, login to view])

Scanner: Socket 7x Series Bluetooth

Phone #1: Motorola DroidX, Android 2.3.3

Phone #2: iPhone 4s

The developer of FBAScout indicates that they have not included this Socket scanner in the app's list of compatible devices and that they don't plan to do so.

Requires an additional app (such as SerialMagic [[url removed, login to view]] or a similar app), to connect Bluetooth devices. Pairing the scanner and phone succeeded, but FBAScout can't connect to the scanner.

Additional app not required to pair FBAScout with the developer's "approved" list of devices. Whether iOS will pair with the scanner is unknown; it appears certain that, like the Android phone, it won't connect the scanner with FBAScout.

An app (or other type of bridge/patch) to connect each phone with the scanner, as well as providing the connection between the scanner and the FBAScout app.
