Project Description

I have a project that requires a SharePoint listto allow students to select after-school activities.

The list is easy enough but it would need to pull data from another list.

Currently students log into SharePoint and complete a form that writes to a simple list.

Problem 1 - Weighting

Some activities are really popular (e.g. horse riding, rock climbing).

The first students online will be able to select two or three of the popular selections which is unfair.

Ideally we could weight each activity.

Horse riding and rock climbing could have a weight of 60 each.

Choir a weight of 0.

Maximum weight of all selections could not exceed 100.

Kids could not select two popular choices giving others a more equitable choice.

I have built this formatting in SharePoint lists using data validation in Infopath so I know it is possible.

Problem 2 Limits on numbers of students

Activities can only have a certain amount of students (e.g. soccer might be limited to 13).

I have no idea how to make the selection unavailable after the activity has been fully subscribed.
