The Jopari Engineering team is seeking a freelance Technical Writer. The initial job is to work with our CTO to describe our technical architecture, its main functional components and how they interact, and the primary aspects of our Domain Specific Language. The deliverable will be a set of documents and diagrams that describe this architecture.
To accomplish this, you will have a series of meetings with the CTO in which he describes in words and drawings the architecture and its components. You must have sufficient technical background that you can ask questions until you understand the material. Then you will write up the content, the CTO will review it, and you'll iterate until the documentation is acceptable.
The expected time to complete this first job is 2 weeks.
This work requires your presence in our office in Concord, CA for about 50% of the time. You can work remotely for the remainder, or sit in our office.

To be successful at this job, you will need to have (in addition to excellent English writing skills) a good background in systems design or systems architecture, or have at least 5 years of experience as a professional software developer. Knowledge of any specific programming language (Java, C++, .Net) is not required, however knowledge of only HTML, Visual Basic, etc is not sufficient.
