Project Description

Project: Use webcam as a point and shoot camera

We are in need of an application to be built that is similar to 'Yawcam'. http://www.yawcam.com.

Yawcam, while good, has significantly more interfaces and configuration options than we need. The application should allow the user to set a stored path to save images and be able to save a default camera device, if there are multiple webcams on the client computer. Upon open the application should present a preview window with an oversized button to take a picture. This application will ultimately be used on a Acer Iconia 510, which is a touchscreen, thus the need for 'finger appropriate size' buttons. Once the photo is taken, it should save to a default path as a JPEG. The preview window should close after taking the photo. Essentially, this will be used to convert the rear facing webcam in the tablet computer into a point and shoot camera. While there are several applications available in the public domain that perform similarly, we need something stripped down and simple for personnel to use.

As a very important note - We originally posted this job on Freelancer before and rec'd a deliverable that works great. However, it does not operate on Windows 8. The application must be tested by the developer on Win8, or alternately, we can do so, but successful completion requires that it function on Windows 8.
