I need to develop a simple utility installed on a desktop pc.
Remote users with laptops/phones will be able to go to it and click on a transfer button to automatically transfer via Bluetooth several files located in a specific folder on the pc to their device.
It needs to be really simple - just click and transfer. Normally the remote devices would not be allowed to be physically connected to the main network either via wifi or LAN cable, hence reason for bluetooth - unless you can suggest a better method.
As security always seems an issue with pairing devices, it would be good to be able to 'register' the device beforehand, so when they use it only that device can pair - no other third parties can do so.
This would be installed on a ship, and so normally it is a pretty closed environment. The crew would be receiving a number of news files to allow them to read them within a newsreader application being developed.
Suggestions or advice on how you think this could be achieved will secure bid.
