Hi tutor,

The attachment file with the file name "Manual gearbox [url removed, login to view]" is the guideline for the design of the gearbox. Expert have to design the gearbox based on the manual. For the ease of design, expert may did some modification to the design. However, please inform the student if there is any modification.

The following links is very useful for the design as well. Expert is encourage to selected any of gear ratio of the manual 5 speed gear ratio to carry out the calculation.

The attachment file with the file name "MP491"(power point slide)" is the presentation slide for the project. Please kindly refer to page 22-26 about the design of the gearbox.

The attachment file with the file name " RA61 Manual [url removed, login to view]" is some of the useful information about the design. Expert is encourage to look through it.

Following are the detail of the project.

Objective:

Create a valid 3D gearbox( Manual transmission system)

Project Methodology:

A three dimensional finite element model will be created by using solidworks and the effect of an external load distribution along the gear tooth width will be added according to actual working situations. In the solidwork simulations module, the contact relation will be established and Von Mises stress distribution on the teeth will be calculated, Then the entire gearbox assembly will be animated using Solidwork.

Final Deliverables:

Valid and Fully animated gearbox design(in solidwork) which able to carry out for the FEM analysis(FEM analysis will be done by myself).
