Project Description

An engineer experienced with Salome-Meca and CalculixCodeAster is needed to prepare

a video tutorial demonstrating the proper procedures to solve a multi-body FEA problem with these tools.

The delivered article would be a video recording of procedures as they are accomplished on the computer screen.

No voice recording is needed if there is a way to create captions, document or explain your steps.

The example is multi-body assembly of two plates which overlap. They are connected together with 4 fasteners.

The fastener model will be simplified as 3 cylindrical bodies.

The plates will have a constraint or load applied on each end to load the fasteners in shear and bending.

The plates and the fasteners would be made of different materials.

The demonstration has to detail setup of the software for this condition.

The platform currently being used is Linux, not Windows.

The demonstration begins with a previosly prepared model import.

The initial models for the plates and bolts would be imported as a .step or .iges file.

The tutorial will cover configuration of the environments as may needed, importing, exporting, meshing,

application of boundary constraints and loads.

It is very important that this demonstration focuses on procedures for correctly setting up the multi-body assembly to produce accurate results, not trying to exercise the fea software.

Pre-tension loads on the fasterners must be covered.

The visual demonstration concludes with a finite element solution presenting the stresses

experienced by the fasteners and plates.

A final discussion at the end must to review how to interpret the output file and determine if the fasteners

or the plates will carry the shear and bending loads correctly.

Your demonstration should be fully reproducible by someone watching, having no missing steps or details.
