I am looking for a fully bilingual Spanish-English speaker to help with a project on US Spanish -- someone who likes to talk. S/he must have fluency at the Spanish native level -- not just Kitchen Spanish or Spanish learned in school.
The speaker will talk me through translations from colloquial English into colloquial US Spanish (any common dialect), and give reliable feedback about his/her reaction to different possible wordings in US Spanish.
Initially, I just need someone for a couple of hours, but there are likely to be opportunities for considerably more work if it goes well.
The work will be done over Skype or similar web-conferencing software. The contractor must have a reliable device with a video camera and (free) Skype software or equivalent, high-speed Internet access and a quiet place to work. (A headset or earbuds may be necessary, depending on the contractor's device.)
The contractor's cover letter should address the following (in English or Spanish):
1. How/where s/he learned Spanish.
2. What variety/varieties of Spanish s/he speaks, reads and/or writes.
3. How well s/he speaks Spanish.
4. How well s/he speaks English.
5. What other languages s/he speaks well.
The contractor should apply only if available immediately.
Before being hired officially, the contractor must sign a standard Non-disclosure Agreement.
