Project Description

We have a barebones LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and Perl) install Built (CentOS 6.3 Rackspace Cloud Server)

In the short term we need someone to help me get it configured exactly how we need, but in the lon-term we need someone to help assist with the admistration, such as server updates, security checks, load checks, etc.

We've managed to build the server ourselves until now as a little side-project, but my own schedule is now overloaded, and less and less work was getting done on it auntil it simply halted recently. We need someone to help complete this project. The next task on the list is to get the SSL server running with it's own certifcate.

We have installed mod_ssl and openssl and apache is running fine with these modules enabled. The server is running completely fine as is --it's a beta server and isn't a live production server, there is another server for the live website, so we can play with this as much as we like. We also have an image of it in it's current state so we can restore it if you break something whilst trying to configure it-- the next step of progress for our desired configuration is to get the SSL installed.

Firstly this would involve the generatation of a Cerificate Signing Request (CSR) and get it signed by Thawte or similar Ceritifcate Signing Authority (CSA). Secondly, we then need the "[url removed, login to view]" and "[url removed, login to view]" files configuring to work with the newly signed certificate.

There are other jobs available after this and possible ongoing maintenance work if you want it.
