Project Description

I have the following file saved under /var/spool/cron/username:

-----------------------------

######## Default cron jobs to ensure your account runs properly. Please do not remove. #########

25 * * * * /usr/lib/sendmail -q

25 0 * * * /usr/sbin/logrotate /etc/[url removed, login to view] >/dev/null 2>&1

3 1 * * * /usr/lib/sendmail -q -OTimeout.queuereturn=5d -ONiceQueueRun -OMaxQueueRunSize=0 -ODeadLetterDrop=nobody

#################################################################################################

#15 * * * * php /var/www/html/2011/[url removed, login to view]

-----------------------

where "sendmail3" is a simple php mail() function script.

The problem is that the cron job keep executing the sendmail3 script at 8:30 am (EST) everyday and again at 10:30 am (EST) everyday.

I need help understanding:

1) why does the script continue to execute at THESE SPECIFIC times (as opposed to ie, every 15 minutes on the hour)

2) after I delete the line specifying this 'crontab' to run, what else do I need to do to clear this job from the 'memory' on my web hosting providers system, thereby KILLING the cron job.

I will evaluate suggestions and award the full amount to the responder whose instructions first resolve my issue.

Thank you for bidding & please note, I would expect the solution is not so difficult to explain - however additional information / resources to help me understand would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!

GOOD luck!
