Project Description

The Empowerment Partnership ([url removed, login to view], [url removed, login to view]) is looking for an Adobe InDesign expert to edit a training manual. You will be provided with our current manual which about 170 pages and already written/designed.

We are looking for somebody who understands the layout capabilities of InDesign. We’d like you to pick apart our manual and set it up correctly from the start. We are continuously improving our content, and editing the manual will be easier on us if it’s set up with best practices and the idea of expansion in mind. Our overall goal is that, when it’s time for us to make small edits with the words/font/etc., those changes will appear throughout the whole thing in the right places.

Our content and design does not need to be altered. We’re basically looking for someone who can make our manual consistent and flow together, and who knows and can implement best practices with a large InDesign document.

Here are some specific things we’re looking for:

- Create Master Pages

- Automated Table of Contents

- Automated Index Page Headers

- A consistent set of Styles

We are looking to have it finished by mid-January. If you’re interested, please send Chelsea Burns a proposal with the following information:

- What it would cost

- When it could be finished

- Sample of a document or manual you have worked on in the past (preferably in InDesign, but if it’s pretty enough I’m okay with a pdf).

Thank you! No phone calls please (I don’t work in the office and wouldn’t be able to pick up anyway :-). If this is a good fit we may move forward and ask you for more help with other manuals.
