Project Description

I have a project that must be completed by [url removed, login to view]! Must have or research specifics of Islam faith. here is what needs to be done.
One purpose of this assignment is to facilitate a better understanding of Islam and Muslims and increase your awareness of Muslim events, thinkers, activists, organizations, institutions, or communities in and related to the Muslim world. A second purpose is to help you investigate and articulate what you have learned by searching for and reading a minimum of seven diverse sources (excluding the assigned readings and visuals). The third purpose is to promote additional deep reflection and discourse about some of the in-class discussions. Here are some suggestions and ways on how to go about your reaction paper.
Part I: Selecting the topic for your reaction paper:
Choose only ONE of the following three possible options: actual observation, virtual visitation, or media exploration. In all the three, you are expected to raise and contemplate critical questions, take good notes, research the central issues, and write an analytical innovative reaction paper. Although you are required to utilize additional outside academic sources, this is strictly a reaction paper to what you have initially observed, visited, or explored.
A. Actual Observation:
Attend a public lecture or event related to Islam. Listings of events can be found in local newspapers and web sites. This option is for those who prefer to attend an actual function about or related to Islam and/or Muslims.
B. Virtual Visitation:
This option is meant for those interested in searching a website about or related to Islam and Muslims on the internet. Websites can be by Muslims or non-Muslims, academic or research institutions, national or global organizations, individual or communal sites.
C. Media Exploration:
Your reaction paper may also be to a movie, TV program, public performance, art exhibit, or a newspaper/ newsletter/magazine/journal article.
Part II. Writing the Reaction Paper (minimum 7 double-spaced pages):
After you have successfully selected and investigated the topic of your choice, you are ready to begin the writing process. Overall, your reaction paper must include or incorporate three important integral parts:
A) Report:In this part you need to describe your observation, visitation, OR exploration by outlining concisely what and how you did in no more than 3-4 paragraphs.
B) Research: Here you must explore additional sources and re-examine the main points and especially those that are most important in your opinion; select only 1-2 of these points and concentrate on them; analyze what was said in your sources about them in depth. Good use and documentation of the sources that you have read are absolutely necessary; be specific: who said it, to whom it was said, when it was said, and where it was said (pp. #s); do not plagiarize, and attribute ideas to their authors; plagiarization= an F grade; this part should be minimum four (4) pages;
C) Assessment: In this part, you are expected to evaluate your observation, visitation, OR exploration. Was it/was it not useful in general and why? In what ways the assignment has helped you personally better understand Islam and Muslims? What things could be done to improve this exercise? Be creative and analytical. This part should be minimum two (2) pages.
Finally, remember to adhere to the following instructions before you finalize and print your paper; this is worth 5 points, so do not neglect it:
