To Whom It May Concern:
Our company is in the middle of petitioning for a foreign national to receive an H1-B work visa to come and work for us.
We already have an evaluation of this person's educational credentials, but now USCIS is asking for an expert opinion letter to verify that the proffered position, that of a Technical Writer, qualifies as a "Specialty Occupation" according to USCIS guidelines.
This means that they want proof that the the job duties of a Technical Writer are so complex and varied, that they require at least a Bachelor's level degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
As such, we are looking for a professor in one of the aforementioned fields who is able to write such a letter for us.
The professor would have to be currently working at a US university and be willing to sign the expert opinion letter on the letterhead of their university.
Please let me know if you are able to fulfill all of these requirements, and how long it would take.
