We are looking to establish a long-term contracting relationship with some highly qualified music professionals, who will transcribe popular music songs for us on a for-hire basis. The deliverables that you produce for us will only be for the personal use of our customers, and will not be resold, published, used for public performance, or otherwise used in violation of copyright law.
We will send you each song as a YouTube link. You will transcribe the song and provide us with three deliverables: (a) a PDF file of sheet music for the entire song containing 2-staff keyboard part with melody on top staff and accompaniment on bottom staff, chords, and lyrics; (b) an MP3 file of the piano part, and (c) a MusicXML file of the entire song. We've provided a sample of part of a sheet music, for your reference.
You must be fluent in English. We cannot work with you unless you can read and write emails written in English. In addition, we are looking for people who can do music transcription of popular songs in a variety of other languages, particularly Spanish, French, and/or Mandarin Chinese (writing the lyrics in simplified Chinese, traditional Chinese, or pinyin, at our option). If lyrics are in a language that you don't speak, you won't have to transcribe the lyrics, only the melody and accompaniment.
We will pay you $7.00 USD per per minute of music, as defined by the difference between the start time and end time of the YouTube link.
To start off, we would like you to do a short job for us. We will want you to transcribe the FIRST TWO MINUTES ONLY of [url removed, login to view] (that is, from 0:00 to 2:00). The lyrics of this song are mostly in Chinese, please convert them to pinyin if you can. If you don't speak Chinese, that's no problem, we will provide you with a text file containing the lyrics in pinyin.
If you respond to us, please provide the following: (a) a little bit about you, including a brief summary of your education, experience, and qualifications; (b) what languages you can understand well enough to be able to transcribe lyrics; (c) a couple of sample transcriptions that you have done of popular songs; and (d) an estimate of how many songs per week you would be able to do for us if we establish a contracting relationship with you.
