I had to close and re-open the project because I had made a mistake on the budget, I had not realized that by selecting "very Small project" I was setting the minium bid to $250. Anyway, aside from changing the budget, the project remains the same.
I need to have a document translated from English to Modern Standard Arabic.
The document is about ancient/medieval history and contains 4,200 words.
The document will eventually appear on a website, but the translation should be left in the Word document.
For dates please use the Western calendar (BC/AD) and display years using western English numerals (as Arabic Wikipedia does).
For the names of ancient cities, countries, and empires you can look up the correct Arabic names using the Arabic Wikipedia. (I.e. look up the name on the English Wikipedia and then click on the link on the left that takes you to the Arabic article to see the name in Arabic) If an Arabic article does not exist for the name, then simply transliterate the English language name into Arabic characters based on your own knowledge of how names are usually transliterated into Arabic.
IF YOU DID NOT BID ON MY LAST PROJECT then send me a translation of the 3 short sample sentences below and I will then base my decision on both price of your bid and the quality of translation of the sample sentences. IF YOU DID BID ON MY LAST PROJECT THEN YOU DO NOT NEED TO SEND THE TRANSLATION SAMPLE.
Thanks for your consideration and good luck.
1) Most archaeologists explained the development of the Minoan civilization as a natural expansion of Near Eastern influences. However, in 1972, Renfrew began arguing for an indigenous development of Minoan and other Aegean civilizations sparked by increased productivity through advances in agriculture.
2) Starting at around 1250 BC however, the Eastern Mediterranean was rocked by wave after wave of invasions. In Greece, the Dorian Invasion effectively brought an end to Mycenaean civilization. Slightly later, the Near East was also invaded by a people the Egyptians called “the Sea Peoples”.
3) The Assyrians burst into the political scene of Middle East at the end of the Bronze Age as a warlike tribe from the northern fringes of Mesopotamia. At the end of the Thirteenth Century BC, the Assyrian King Tikulti-Ninurta I had swept into lower Mesopotamia and conquered Babylon, bringing all of Mesopotamia under Assyrian rule.
