We are looking for an independent consultant, preferably a native Spanish speaker who has experience translating written English into written Spanish in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.
The person selected will not be compensated for travel to or accommodations. The independent consultant is expected to provide his/her own work environment including computer and other needed supplies.
Canyon Ranch Institute (CRI) will deliver to the independent consultant Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, and/or Adobe Acrobat .pdf documents to be translated. These documents consist of:
• Phase 1 - Personal Wellness Journal – approximately 4,600 words
• Phase 2 - Three nearly identical versions of the same survey – each version is approximately 6,000 words. The approximate total number of unique words that will need translated is 6,250.
• Phase 3 - PowerPoint slides – approximately 10 PowerPoint files with 450 words each
• Phase 4 - Participant’s Guide - approximately 18,700 words
These documents will be translated and adapted into appropriate Spanish language documents by the independent consultant and returned to CRI on a timely basis. A specific schedule for delivery of each phase listed above will be agreed to by the independent consultant and CRI in advance.
Project Timeline: All work shall be completed on or before May 30, 2011.
This work will proceed in phases with payment made at the completion of each phase and delivery of the translated document. A phase, in this instance, will be defined by the separate documents outlined above.
Compensation: The independent consultant will be selected based on level of experience and total project bid. Responders are asked to acknowledge the non-profit nature of CRI and its partners as well as the corresponding emphasis on cost efficiencies when submitting estimates.
General: All original English documents will be provided via email as either Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, or Adobe Acrobat pdf documents.
