Thank you for inviting me to your project. I am French, even though I have been living in South Africa for a long time. I am a translator. I work manually. I hate and despise google and softwares that "translate" words and line them up hoping to make a sentence, instead of translating meaning and feeling. I don't have a problem doing a test. My hourly rate is $15 per hour for standard translations (for technical and legal, I like to see the document first), but the system doesn't let us bid a figure lower than your minimum budget. How much can I translate in 1 hour... I know you don't want to hear "it depends" but it does :-) Let's say about 1000-1200 words per hour on standard word format, including proofreading and typo corrections (I do 3 of each... can't help it). If you have a brochure that I have to spend time converting hoping it doesn't get too distorded, images that cannot edit and have to buy 5 different softwares to try on it, then I'll go slower.
