I need three separate videos showing one or more children doing something interesting and fun! Videos need to be about 30 seconds each so you'll have a total of about one and one-half minutes of video when finished. I have a website that teaches children how to read and is currently used by hundreds of schools around the world. One section of our program teaches a small group of words to students using special learning techniques. When the student has learned the group of words I want to reward the student with a short video showing something fun or interesting. Previously we have shown animations from cartoon characters but I thought it would be a nice change to show a real video of one or more children doing something that would be fun to watch. This can something unique to your culture - a special talent - singing a song - something fun with a pet animal - and also talents such as juggling - jumping rope - catching a fish - playing a musical instrument - telling jokes - a child doing acrobatics - a girl dancing - etc.
The most important thing is to personalize the video for my students. You'll do this by putting short comments before and after the video. I want to encourage my students to keep working and your children showing this encouragement would be fun and very helpful. So, at the very beginning of the video your child could say each of the following:
Video 1. Wow! You did a great job reading those words. Watch this!
Video 2. Hi, my name is ________, since you did such a good job reading those words I want to show you something.
Video 3. Hello ReadingKEY super student! My name is _________. Because you did so well reading those words I want to show you something I (we) can do.
If you want to get really creative - you could have your child recite a poem to the camera and then do something fun. For example, let's say you have a place where children like to jump off a small cliff into the water. This cannot be dangerous and must be safe for the children. Your children could recite a poem at the top of the small cliff. For example, the child could say - "I am a child from across the sea, I see you are doing ReadingKEY. You read the words with such style and grace - you put a smile on my face." Then the child or children jump up and down and say - Great Reading! - and they jump into the water. The children then look up and say - Bye ReadingKey! - and wave their hand.
Your job is to now tell me about your culture and at least one or two videos you think you could do. To do this you'll need a video camera and knowledge of how to convert the video to a digital format for uploading to Freelancer. A separate external microphone is preferred but I know many people don't have this and only have access to the microphone built into the camera. If you don't have a separate microphone but have a great video idea that is fine as I can hire an audio company to overdubb other children's voices.
So to make it clear - You are bidding on making 3 separate videos. Each video will be about 30 seconds but can be a little longer or a little shorter depending on what you are video taping. You will upload these to the Files section on Freelancer when complete. File format may be mp4 or Flash flv or any format for that matter. Let me warn you now - great videos put me in a very generous mood and I like to give bonuses of 10 - 20 - 30 or even 50% for that special fun video. Looking forward to your ideas and price. If you do a good job, I'll hire you to make another 3-5 videos immediately after completing the first three.
Thanks so much!
