I need a Excel macro created. I believe that they are created in Visual Basic.
I will be getting sizable databases, usually in Excel or comma delimited or text formats. I will convert them to Excel format. Then the macro can be used at the proper time.
a. Sort an Excel column #1 by account number. This should group together all the records with the same account numbers.
b. In this same numbered group of records, add together the figures in a column #2, getting a Total.
c. Place the Total in its named column #3, in dollar format.
d. Divide the Total by the number in column #4.
e. Place the answer in its named column #5, in decimal format with two places and a % sign.
I’m guessing that the format of these things is that first, the Excel macro asks the user to input info and then the macro activity is performed. The questions would ask for three column names.
a. Column #1 = naming the column name with the account number
b. Column #2 = naming the column name with the numbers to be added together
c. Column #4 = naming the column name with the number that column #2 is being divided by
