Project Description

Import Function For Filemaker Advanced 12

Please refer to the attached document.

1 - AS AN EXAMPLE - I need to have the attached rtf file imported into Filemaker Advanced 12 on a regular basis. e.g. the rtf file is generated based on a new client and then it needs to be imported into filemaker, into the same table which will update based on the client's business name, and the rtf report creation date / or import date?

rtf --> imported into filmmaker --> health_check table --> assigned to a client name --> assigned to a creation date -->

this data will then be used in different reports generated by filemaker e.g. the data from the rtf file will be added to other data e.g. planning information to then create a report or final plan / document for the client.

1 - The attached file will change depending on the client e.g. the position of the client's business name e.g. "MY Sample X Factor" will change depending on the length of the name ... it wraps around and is placed on two lines.

2 - most of the data and headings are constant e.g. statement date, period length, business name, profitably measures, revenue, revenue growth rate% - to - marginal cash flow.

3 - the import must be easy for the end user as they will not have any skills in computers AND the result of the import must be constant.

4 - the file will always be in rtf format

5 - the file name of the rtf file is created at time of export and as such we can create a constant name if this helps

6 - the program that exports to rtf is a dog and does not have many export functions (i think they did this so you have to use their program?) hence the rtf format of the attached file.

the platform will be MAC mostly and possibly PC later.

There are other rtf files displaying other information that I will want the same thing done to. They are different in their layout but the desire to import into filemaker is the same. This job is the first of 4 ...
