I need a small database to allow the storage of customer and vehicle details, details of work done, Details of parts fitted, be able to print an invoice, be able to print any invoice easily from the data input/job form
I need a basic job or work order form, On entry of the Vehicle Reg Number in a combo box, the form will check to see if the Vehicle is already saved, if it is, the rest of the vehicle details will be filled in on the form automatically, if the vehicle is not already in the database then I must be given the option to add it to the system and on completion of adding the new vehicle, I will be returned to the main form to continue adding the rest of the data, with the new vehicle data added.
Primary Key MUST NOT be Ref No, to allow for private plates which may in the future be on another car, you must also think of a way to deal with the possibility of 2 different vehicles having the same number historically.
Customer details must be done in a similar way, enter the Customer name and if an customer matches then other details from the form are prefilled, if not in DB the option to add in the same way as above, Also you need to account for 2 different people having the same name.
I must be able then be able to enter details of work done, probably as memo as this may well exceed 254 characters.
Parts used will need to be on a subform of the main form, I need to be able to select from a list of parts and be able to add certain info such as description and sale price, these will need to be stored with the Job, as these will change on Job to Job, again, if parts are not shown, option to add
Goes without saying that date and invoice number should also be stored
Decent navigation is a must
All this information will then be used to generate an invoice showing, Owner details, Vehicle details, Work done and all parts used and unit price of parts, this unit price must also be editable on the Job sheet without affecting the other data in the database.. so must not alter the price in the parts table.
I will also need to scroll through the invoices.
I have included a sample database that I have created to include a general idea of what I am after

Job form, this is the layout required only as the FORM DOES NOT WORK
Tables, these include parts (filled), customer, vehicle makes (filled) , Vehicles, Suppliers and Job,
The database provided is for reference only and it will not function properly but it gives an idea of the layout required. you are not trying to fix what's provided, tables will need to be added to enable full normalization, you are to create a working system and will need various skills and plenty of initiative.
Now the horrible bit !!!! reading this and understanding this part will save everyone time and money.
PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOU ARE ABLE TO DO ALL OF THE ABOVE AND ADD A BIT OF INITIATIVE WHERE REQUIRED, I DO NOT EXPECT TO HAVE TO BABYSIT THE FREELANCER WORKING ON THE PROJECT AND HAVE TO REMIND THEM OF THE BASIC RULES OF DATABASE DESIGN AS SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN THE CASE SO FAR. If you do not understand normalization or do not understand how to create a decent relationship structure then please do not bid as you will not be able to complete the task
MILESTONE PAYMENTS , simply providing the basic tables and using the access form builder does not warrant a milestone payment, to request a milestone payment, I expect a significant milestone to be reached, this will be along the lines of fully functioning job form, working as requested above, I seem to have been paying a stream of milestone payments to coders and then never getting completed work as the coder does not know how to do it.
BUDGET, Simply put, if you bid over $100 you won’t be getting it, my budget is Small ideally around $50.
IT MUST BE IN MICROSOFT ACCESS, I do not want or need it in any other format including .NET and C etc…
