Create VB (or similar) programm to add fields into Outlook calendars and to extract/export calendar info into an mySQL database for reporting. This will give the Outlook Calendar some basic CRM functionality.
This project consists of 3 parts:
1. Creating a program in VB or similar to add fields (free entry and pull-down boxes) into an Outlook Calendar appointment entry.
2. To automate the export of calendar appointment information (for specific date ranges) into a mySQL database (info native to Outlook and also the fields added in item 1.).
3. To generate some reports based on the information in this mySQL database. Provide a dashboard to select/filter the fields to create a report (ie. date range, office locations, type of appointment,...)
I invisage that item 1. will be a routine that can be run on all PC's that require the additional fields to be added. Further, I invisage that item 2. could be an icon/button on the Outlook Calendar ribbon which would launch the export function and would bring up the option of selecting a data range (could be "last week", "next week" or date entry from-to).
I am happy to consider different proposals for how these activities are executed as long as the basic functionality is created.
