Summary: This is a 'Jackpot Scraper' application. The purpose is to store the HISTORY of jackpots in a datatable. I want to be able to store values every 15 minutes from each jackpot I have set up in the system (NOTE: current app is set up to run every 60 seconds for testing purposes)
Application: Application is a Windows Service written in VB.Net. That is how I would like to keep the application, so all source code will be turned over to me well-documented and as a Windows Service.
The developer must have Visual Studio 12 as that is what the current Windows Service is developed in. It is currently a rudimentory scraper and will scrape information between a start and end string.
As shown in the document, the URLs will require some different Scraper Types (i.e., RSS Scraper for multiple Jackpots, RSS Scraper for a single Jackpot, etc..) The code should be as generic as possible so that code isn't 100% specific to an URL. My plan is to enter new jackpots (or feeds) into the database and just let the scraper do it's job.
This is an EASY project for a good developer. I could do it myself if I had more time. The current program only took 1 hour of my time.
The URLS that require scraping are attached along with the *current* database architecture, which will need to be changed to accommodate the different types of scraping
