We require vb code to go through an excel spreadsheet and create a word document based on a template.
Operation to be as follows - this can be changed to be easier to code, but shouldn't be overly complex:
User opens word document, is prompted for Excel spreadsheet.
User browses to file and selects
System performs a quick check that file is correct (checks cells A1 and A2 to have correct field names and that A2 has data) then proceeds to populate template with data.
If user saves file, system should perform a save-as to avoid overwriting application/template
The process of creating the word document from the excel sheet is as follows-
Put cell O2 in location. This is only in the word docuement once, all rows are be identical
Put cell p2 in location This is only in the word docuement once, all rows are be identical
For each row:
Reformat date (column A) from Apr 21/2009 to Apr 21 2009
Put Column B in location
Put column E in location
Put column H in location - format to #,##[url removed, login to view]
Put extra row between each
will be the sum of all the items
Minor changes to template should be able to be made without affecting operation. Need the ability to change font, layout slightly - so need the ability to open the file, cancel out of the macro, make changes and save file.
