I would like to create a Web Order Form that will allow independent retailers to make bulk purchases online.
A log-in page would exist as the point of entry. Registration of retailers would be handled by ourselves. And a 'register here' link on the log-in screen would redirect to a simple Email Form Field where details could be taken from the applicant for screening and reply.
The Order Form itself would comprise of a list of our wholesale products, pricing, check box and a quantity field to be altered by the user. A total price would be generated automatically and would account for VAT and shipping rates.
Processing the order would be handled by ProtX.
I have included some images as an illustration of the project. However, we have it as a plain order form and I had wondered whether something like osCommerce could be tweaked to display a product list in this fashion. Or whether it could be used as a database, its back-end used for uploading products and then displaying them dynamically. I have suggested it because the ability to store an image, description of the product would be useful. Also integration with ProtX and the display of a basket before final payment screen.
If you could first provide an answer as to whether using the osCommeerce platform or similar would be simpler all round, that would be of great help.
We require a system where:
1. all of our products are easily at hand and in a list format. (separate categories could be found on a navigation bar, not shown in our images).
2. Quantities can be altered by the user.
3. A basket screen confirms order before payment pages.
4. The registered address of the user is shown. top of page.
