Project Requirements – Hawktrack Phonegap Application

Link: [url removed, login to view]

Supported Platforms: Android 2.3+ phones

App Overview: Hawktrack is launching a mobile application to support its online GPS tracking protocol hosted at [url removed, login to view] The app is intended for retail and small business customers looking to monitor the status of their vehicles, children or pets on-the-go.

The app is a HTML web app built for mobile to be installed natively ONLY using Phonegap. The app uses Backbone, Underscore (templates) and Zepto. Version 0.1 alpha of the app is hosted at [url removed, login to view] for preview.

The app’s backend web service and the front end application layer have already been completed. Design agnostic templates have been used with syntactic classes to ensure separation of concern between the application logic and the application design. Currently, the basic UI is built using inuit.css. A sample template can be seen in Appendix A for reference. Hawktrack needs the user interface of the app to be designed (graphics part) displaying our logo, various functional buttons, colour schemes etc optimised for a mobile native experience.

Required: Hawktrack is looking for a design house to design and develop (CSS) the user interface of the mobile application. This requires the following deliverables:

Design prototype for each view – there are approximately 10 views. The views are quite simple with overlapping elements among many of the views.

Given the app will be treated as a native app, this may include certain native elements such as a menu bar corresponding to the menu button on Android phones

SASS (or LESS) UI Kit with sample HTML documentation corresponding to above design prototypes and the application templates as shown in Appendix A

Example: Ratchet, Bootstrap, Foundation - although not as extensive. It only needs to contain the UI elements used by the app.

SASS code must comply to some form of OOCSS structure

JavaScript code for enhancing HTML elements, including but not limited to, (OPTIONAL)

Slider input fields

Date input fields

App Store design elements

Icons as per the Android guidelines ([url removed, login to view])
