I've shown K2 in the title, it may/not be required. If K2 is not required let's delete it from this project. Read on . . .
This project involves selecting Joomla Sections & Categories or K2 Categories and Sub-Categories, plus all else that I don't understand, to meet my project objectives. I've attached 3 documents to aid you to understand my project:
1. *The Full Drop-Down menu, so you can see the structure of my built out website.
2 *A reduced Drop-Down menu which defines the bounds of this project. This is Phase One.
3 A PDF file which shows what my customer sees when at the end branch of the reduced Drop-Down menu.
This Phase One project is all the internal Joomla structure to create the end look as described by the PDF example and reduced Drop-Down menu. The dynamic component is the ability to substitute the clicked menu item anywhere into the article text and/or title. The goal is to have 1 to N generic articles which via text substitution creates articles specific to the clicked "web page". Furthermore, this substitution would carry over to the same article when the "More" button is clicked and unique images are called to the expanded More page.
The admin page that "calls" the generic articles must be able to individually select which articles are published and the order they are published, for each menu branch. It is important to understand the each text article is reused multiple times on different "web pages" and that the articles are customized by the menu item text substitution. You must create the "hook" to make this substitution happen.
I currently have the full menu typed into my admin side and with the current template the drop down menu works just like the attached sample. However, I have zero confidence that the K2 Type column selection(s) I made are correct for my project. I can easily adjust all these settings, I just don't know the correct settings. I've never had a Joomla Ah-ha moment where it all made sense.
Not included in this project is creating the relevant 1 to N articles or inserting the "hook" you create to achieve the menu text to article text substitution. You need to simply explain how to insert the "hook" you create to key both the text substitution and image(s) linking.
If you've read this far, thank you.
