IA requires a vendor who has demonstrated experience in managing website projects and expertise with best practices regarding successful website design, development, and deployment.
About Invest Africa
IA is a volunteer run organization started in 2011 to raise funds, via a crowdfunding platform, for African enterprises caught in the gap between microfinance and traditional banking. With traditional banks servicing the higher end of the market and microfinance institutions (“MFIs”) servicing the poorest of the poor, there is a gap in providing financial services to unbanked and under-banked individuals and SMEs that fall between them – the Missing Middle.
IA aims to fill out the SME financing gap in Africa. IA will be a crowdfunding platform that will raise funds to provide guarantee funds to banks and microfinance institutions providing loans to SMEs thus limiting their risks. By sharing the risk with them, Invest Africa intends to facilitate lending to this market and provide better conditions with lower interest rates. Invest Africa will raise these funds via a crowd funding platform accessible to worldwide investors. Invest Africa’s part of the financing will be in the form of loans that the local entrepreneurs will repay with interest. The remuneration will be based on a profit-sharing model since the interest rates will be distributed between the online investors and Invest Africa.
In addition, Invest Africa will offer business s support services (coaching, training and mentoring services) in partnership with local NGOs, business colleges and community centers.
The goal of this project is to build a new platform with the objectives below:
- Significantly increase traffic
- Increase conversion rate
- Visually appealing, strong branding, clear and easy to navigate platform
- Generate online investments, donations, memberships or volunteers
- Better search engine visibility
