Fix design for SmartMalta.com's homepage and orange buttons to reflect colours

I need the homepage design to be altered slightly and become more attractive. I have a new mascot that would like to introduce on the site and would like to give it a more personal feel. I have here attached the logo as well as a head-shot of the mascot. This is a daily deal site. The person designing must also fix the colour scheme of the orange buttons that are on the site to reflect the scheme present in the logo. To give you an idea, one of the local competitors has quite a sleep design on the homepage. [login to view URL] It needs to be clean and intuitive as well as user friendly.
