we are looking for a solution to broadcast an event using multiple USB cameras to an audience in the internet.
Of course there are the websites for that like uStream or Livestream and Software packages like Wirecast BUT we need a solution which goes one step further (but maybe uses one or more of the existing components).
In the event we will have several rooms and the internet audience wants to see whats going on in all of them. Classically you would have a videomixer on location and show sometimes one camera and then switch to another BUT we want to have it different.
We want all cameras to stream LIVE and somehow an option for the internet user to switch between those multiple streams of the same event. This way we don't have maintenance or something to do (just setup and the rest is automatic).
The most simple solution that comes to our mind is to have multiple laptops streaming each with one camera to some service and then have a consolidated website which embeds the various streams on one page or offers a switching button....
As we want to ask for some fee to participate this event this might not work so well.
What are your ideas for this problem? (we accept the idea only if we can implement it ourselves as entry as well the programming of a solution)
Please look for a simple solution that we can practically implement.
