We have a working video display and capture app that uses DirectShow and VMR9, under Windows 7. For the next app version the code has to be updated to save video files to ASF/WMV format and correct some minor visual issues related to VMR9. Any recent webcam can be used as the video source.
Specifically to be handled:
* when saving to AVI or ASF the video stream disappears, but the video file is created.
* ASF files created at present don't include property details, and the codec used appears to be a relatively inefficient default.
The selected freelancer MUST be able to demonstrate extensive experience with DirectShow, in particular the various interfaces, understanding how the filter graph is created, using the VMR9 object and configuring the ASF writer object.
The current source project in VS2008 is provided. An NDA is required before starting the update project and all copyright remains with us.
This is important:
When you bid on this project, ensure you include details of your development experience with DirectShow. Just saying "...I know DirectShow" or "... I can do this" is not enough. A description of a DirectShow application you worked on, with brief specifics of problems encountered and solved, is what we need to evaluate your capability. Providing a link to a portfolio of work or references is even better.
If you are a new freelancer, tell us how you learned to use DirectShow, how long it took to become proficient and knowledgable on the various DirectShow objects and interfaces, and what app or sample code you started with and developed to a working project.
We ask you to provide a piece of your own DirectShow code (e.g. a class *.cpp and *.h file, but not a complete application) that demonstrates your knowledge and coding style.
