Project Description

The Report designer is a Windows Desktop GUI application that allows the creation and editing of document templates in a graphical manner.

The user can add a number of items, including rich text areas, tables and images to a document template using drag and drop (similar to any forms editor)

and can also edit the content of the added items. The items can contain placeholders for rich text and images that will come from an external data source.

The report designer can also export the document template to a pdf or print ready html file. In the exported version the placeholders will contain external data, but the Freelancer that will implement the project does not have to concern himself with the external data, he should use mock data to prove that the feature works correctly. Also he does only needs to provide export to pdf OR html (not both, but providing export to both formats is a plus).

Similar existing products might be: eclipse BIRT or xTuple OpenRPT.

-- This products include features that I do not need: complicated query editors and ways of importing data from external sources and to many complicated controls.

-- But they don't include something that I need: controls/items that allow for better preview by using inline text editing and image preview.

In the attachment are finer specs, with screen shots explaining the features in more detail.

The project has to be done in VC++, you can use permissive gui libraries like MFC, QT, wxWidgets (you are free to suggest other alternatives)

and must compile in VC++2010.

If you have already created such an editor, please send a sample.

Also please give a list of libraries you want to use in you bid.
