I have a very specific problem with my laptop - the screen is black!
Here what proceeded bofore this problem occured - Ive noticed the last day my date and time were setting back to 2007 (apparently the production date) even after I sat it back to the current datre couple times it went back again to 2007.
The problem description:
So Ive decided to reboot the computer and see if the problem would go away insteal of that I have now black screen, but the harddrive is working, the dvd rom is working, Im failing to enter bios and by pressing capsk lock the light doesnt turn on, when I press power button it turns off immediately within 1 second like it hasnt entered windows at all
I have password protected user so I dont know if it specific to turn off for Visa while its not logged in as a user
Id like to poit your attention that my USB 3G modem was plugged in during that damn reset
and Ive always had similiar issues when I started my Toshiba Satelite laptop with thís 3G modem plugged in, it would simply not boot and the screen remained black WITH WHITE BLINKING DASH ON THE TOP, so the screen itself worked (the hard drive, fan also worked) until I unplug the modem and restart the lapotp. I never paid much attention to it, as it didnt cause much trouble untill now.. Im not sure however if those 2 things somehow related
Now its similar situation except of screen doesnt work at all
Here are the things that Ive already done:
-The first thing I did was, tryed to access bios and it didnt
-I checked the screen under sun if it works - so far havent seen any, so its not the light issue
-Elimiated the glitch possibility by unplugging both the battery and the power and holding power button 30secs than, starting it back on the AC power... didnt help either
-Removed the harddrive- didnt change anything
-Removed one by one the modules, switched them - also didnt help
-For now dont have the External screen so can not check if it will work but I think it wont (as when I press Caps Lock or numlock they are not turning on)
Now I dont know what is it...
Either the VIDEOCARD or DEAD SCREEN, or lost connection to SCREEN or something else... but either if its one of these problems why caps lock is not turning on?
Notice that the laptop wasnt affected by mechanicals impacts (like falling down or something) so I was still hoping it was software issue...
