[url removed, login to view] is a one-man business (with a helping husband) in the real estate domain. [url removed, login to view] assists customers leasing out their properties. Often because the customer shall work abroad for a period of time or have problems selling his property.
Christina who is doing the daily administration receives and confirms orders, adds property listings to our WordPress site [url removed, login to view] (which integrates with external property lease portals), writes and distributes lease contracts, sends out invoices, and sends out different information (service and marketing) to the customers based on where they are in the lease process.
[url removed, login to view] currently uses Gmail, primitive Google Spreadsheets, word documents, and WordPress for administering the business.
[url removed, login to view] wants to get a more structured approach to handle data in order to save time, increase quality, enable automization, sharpen marketing, and provide data for management decisions. Christina works focused to serve all customers and usability of the solution is crucial.
We would like to investigate if it is feasible to base our solution on Google Apps Script. We see these benefits of using GAS:
- we can incrementally add features to existing spreadsheets - doing things in a pace where we can learn from experiences and easily implement changes in daily worklife
- good integration with Gmail + contacts
- everything in the cloud
- possible handover of further development and maintenance to helping husband who used to work as a programmer
We are primarily concerned with unforeseen limitations in Google Apps Script. Is it the right direction to head for?
We are looking for you to be a long-term partner who can help us developing to meet current and future needs. At first we would like your advise on whether we shall go for a Google Apps Script-based solution or another alternative. If we agree to proceed we would like to start out with one or few stories from our backlog and evaluate our ability to collaborate - we have never worked with freelancers like this before.
We are very excited to hear from you and your suggestions on how to proceed.
