This is a small project to demonstrate your DHTML skills. We will select probably two user interface developers. Additional project work may be available for you.
Our web app is a presentation slide designer. The web user creates slides by adding text objects, selecting pictures and placing these on a slide design panel. The web user can drag and position objects. A selected object will show sizing handles and can be resized. Text objects can be edited in a pop-up rich text editor. Objects and object properties (size, position) are persisted. Size, position, rich text will be saved to mysql for later recall. Project includes implementing scrollable thumbnail galleries, both vertical and horizontal.
This project posting is for one or two user interface layer (client-side) developers. We'll provide php/mysql data layer and control layer (server-side) developers to work with you.
Delivered solution must be compatible with our CakePHP framework application, but this slide designer part of the application is not required to use CakePHP views, controllers or models. Thus, CakePHP experience is not required.
You will provide recommendations for which JQuery plugins to use for the project.
- Minimum one year JQuery
- Must have experience with drag/drop, object sizing, rich text editing by web user
- php, mysql, CakePHP (or another PHP framework)
PLEASE PLACE YOUR BID FOR A SMALL PROJECT OF A COUPLE OF HOURS TO DEMONSTRATE YOUR SKILLS.
We are not asking for a bid for a solution to the whole application described above.
For the skills demonstration task, we will ask you to develop a simple drag and drop function, and optionally one or two more functions. Just some basics that can be done in a couple of hours. You will upload your solution to our apache server. We are NOT asking for a complete application solution.
Please include your resume as an attachment in your message to us for the project posting. Your resume should include experience that matches project requirements.
You must be available to start immediately.
