First of all, only bid on this project if you have actually read this entire description and if you have a lot of positive feedback. If you send me a generic message with fake websites you have worked on and you show you have not read this description, I will delete your bid right away.
Allow me to keep this description simple. I basically need a site similar to bookingbuddy.com.
I hired a team a while back to work on my site, but things are going agonizingly slow. You can see the website as it looks right now here: [url removed, login to view]
My other team is working on Sports, Concerts, and Shows, and I would like to have the Flights, Hotels, Car Rentals, Cruises, Vacations, and Student portions of the website finished within this next month. I am a member of [url removed, login to view]'s affiliate program, and I believe a lot of these companies have data feeds whereby you can access them and have access to the necessary information. However, some of the sites don't have this information, but we are going to need to be able to send users to those sites anyways.
Here is the basic description of what I sent them a few months ago:
In addition to everything in the current document you have, we are going to have flights, hotels, cruises, car rentals, students and vacations... for this, i am affiliates of websites like expedia, orbitz, etc. someone is going to come onto my website and be able to search for flights by entering the information one time, at which point we will allow them to search all the other sites by clicking them. I'm not exacty sure how you are going to do this, but you will need to figure out a way to take the flight information they entered onto my site, and plug it into the searches like this: [url removed, login to view], while also getting me credit for sending that person to those websites... which will basically be done by making it look like the person clicked my affiliate ID before they are taken to the sites I am affiliates of. Can you please help me with how we will do this? Further below are all my affiliate IDs that the user will need to pass through before going to the website to make their reservations…
Basically, the site is going to function almost exactly like [url removed, login to view] It’s literally going to function just like it, except I am going to have many more searches available. It is important that this looks as professional as possible. From the design on the actual pages, to the pages that popup when you click “Airport code” or “Calendar”, it ALL needs to look professional, just like bookingbuddy.com. I know a lot of times when designs have to create things like maps, they take the easy way out and they look very boring and unprofessional, but these have to look perfect.
Again, this should function almost exactly like bookingbuddy.com. Regarding the calendars, it should ALWAYS have the date 2 weeks into the future for departures and 1 week after that for arrivals. It also needs to keep up with the times… For instance, this month is may 2008, so by default, it should have that date set while we are still two weeks from may being finished, but once we are two weeks from may being finished, it should move to june 2008 by default, and once we are actually IN THE MONTH OF JUNE, then May 2008 and all other prior months should automatically be removed from the drop down.
Another option I would like to give users is to search for everything on a flash map, which will have all the results contained within it a map and show up upon rollover of a state (or country). By default, it will have a map of the united states, but it will have a link on the top that will say “International”, and if it’s clicked, it will bring up a map of the world and allow people to search based on a country. As soon as they click a country, it will zoom into that country so that they can select an airport from that country, and it should give them the option to zoom out. A great example of how this should look is vayama.com. Please give it a look.
The main functionality of the site is to be able to search all the necessary sites. Even if we don't have an XML or other kind of data feed, we are going need to search those sites anyways. So for instance, one of the main websites we need to search is [url removed, login to view], and even if we don't have a data feed or anything like that, our system will have it so all the text information they enter relevant to their search criteria will automatically be entered into the [url removed, login to view] text fields and searched, so like I said, even if we don't have a data field for that site, we should still be able to search it. The goal is to be able to search just about every site on the net like bookingbuddy.com.
So like I mentioned, the design for the entire site is done. I just need whoever I hire to be able to go in, do all the technical stuff that will allow someone to search flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, and vacations on ALL the sites like on bookingbuddy.com. However, you will need to design the body of the site so that it is along the same lines of the earlier link for my site mentioned earlier in the description as well as along the lines of bookingbuddy.com. It needs to be as professional as possible, with the calendar looking really professional, and everything else. As far as the links in the right column that people will click on to search, they will need to look like this: [url removed, login to view]
Please get back to me asap so we can begin discussing this immediately. If you could reply via MSN that would be great too... my name is [removed]. Please do NOT email me here, only send me instant messages here.
