Research Report (Qualitative) : Achievement Attributions
Achievement attributions – the causes that students give for successes, poor performance, and other outcomes - are important. Not only do they guide students’ feelings of worth, they also influence motivation to study or to tackle new activities. Some research suggests that boys are more likely to attribute classroom successes to high ability and failures to low effort, however girls are more likely to attribute classroom successes to high effort.
Your task is to investigate the research question: do school-aged Australian children show gender differences in their attributions of success and failure?
