Project Overview:
I am seeking a highly skilled and experienced PCB Design & Layout Engineer to assist with schematic capture and, most importantly, PCB layout for my electronics projects. The primary tool required for this work is Altium Designer. I am looking for a professional who not only executes the design but also possesses strong electronics knowledge to provide critical feedback and ensure optimal design choices from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Schematic Capture: Accurately translate circuit designs into professional schematics using Altium Designer.
PCB Layout (Primary Focus):
Perform high-quality PCB layout in Altium Designer, adhering to best practices for signal integrity, power integrity, manufacturability (DFM), and testability (DFT).
Work closely with me to understand design constraints, component placement, routing priorities, and overall board architecture.
Design Review & Critical Feedback: This is a crucial aspect of the role. I require a professional with deep electronics knowledge who can actively comment on and critically review both the schematic captures and PCB layouts. Your expertise will be invaluable in identifying potential issues, suggesting improvements, and optimizing the design before finalization.
Bill of Materials (BOM) Generation: Create a comprehensive and accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) from the Altium design, including part numbers, manufacturers, descriptions, and quantities.
Panelized Gerber File Generation: Generate all necessary fabrication files (Gerber files, drill files, IPC-Netlist, etc.) for PCB manufacturing. These files must be properly panelized according to specified dimensions and requirements for efficient fabrication.
Assembly Process Support: Provide technical support and clarification during the PCB assembly phase, addressing any queries from the assembly house to ensure a smooth and successful build.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven expertise in Altium Designer for both schematic capture and advanced PCB layout.
Strong foundation in electronics engineering principles, including analog, digital, power electronics, and high-speed design considerations.
