I would like to have an application that will allow me to turn my coloring books (see attached files) into iPad and Android applications.
Each book might have from 8 to 80 pages.
The publisher (me) will have to use "iPublisher for coloring books", for performing the following operations:
1) combining the pages of the book (each page is pdf, png, ... file or the whole book is a PDF-file... - this part to be discussed) in a form of a mobile book.
2) Providing each page of the book with the following options
12 colors (fewer number of colors might be chosen)
2 width of "pencil" (one width may be chosen)
2 width of eraser (one width may be chosen)
an option "to see the Answer" in a form of an A-icon if there is an answer that goes with a particular page
3) The publisher can use transparent shapes in order to "cover" some areas of the page and record soundtrack that will be connected with each given area. The size of the shapes can be changed, the shapes can be moved and overlapped in order to better reflect each particular shape on the page.
When a book will be ready, the user will have it in a form of iPad or/and Android application. The user will be able to draw and erase with his finger. If the user touches the text, the soundtrack connected to the particular text (box) plays.
The book will have an "administrator" page. The administrator activate his option by typing a key-word sold/provided with each book.
The administrator has a restricted entrance to the following options on that page:
-drawing on that page
-cleaning up all the book or some particular pages
-activating Answer icons in all the book (if activated, each page that has an answer, will have an A-icon in a corner. When touched, it shows the answer page instead of a given page. Touching the similar icon on answer-page, changes it back)
-hiding/unhiding the pages (see details below)
The "administrator page" shows all the pages in a form of icons.
hiding/unhiding the pages
In "hidden area", the background color is darker than the rest of the background.
Hidden area: moving the icons into the "hidden" area results in inability of the "regular" users to see "hidden" pages in a book.
The administrator can take pages from the "hidden area" or move them into that area.
I would like to have the full right for the application. And I would like a freelancer who will make the application to have the exactly same rights as mine. Particularly, I would like to be able to use the code for this application in case I would like to add or change any other options there.
I believe that the "iPublisher for coloring books" might be useful for a wide range of books' writers. The designer of the application can sell the application to the third party. He/She also can use my books in their mobile form as an example of successful application of the "iPublishing for coloring books" program.
The project will have 5 milestones.
Creating a simplified version of iPublisher of Coloring books. It will be used to make a simple coloring book on iPad or Android.
A "publisher" (me) will be able to take his png/pdf pages and using "The First version of iPublisher" make a coloring book that can be "published" on iPad or Android.
A publisher will have to choose the colors, 1 or 2 widths of "pencil lead", 1 or 2 of the width of an "eraser", and "add answer" option (if needed) for each of the pages. He also will be able to add "Answer" pages to the pages that have "Answers".
The resulting "coloring book" will let the users to draw. The result will be "remembered" and when the "reader" will open the book again, the drawings will still be there.
Each page will have an icon "Answer" in a shape of a circle with A inside. Touching the icon will switch the problem-page to the answer page. The drawing feature on Answer-page is disabled. The icon (Answer) changes its appearance when it appeared on the page with the answer. Touching it switches the page back to the "problem" page.
The "Second version of iPublisher" will have the same features as the first version explained, but will make 2 books, one for iPad and another for Android.
At that point the minor design changes such as background colors, appearance (size-shape) of the "pencils" icons, "erasers" icons, "Answer" icon might have to be completed if the proposed by developer options are not suitable.
"The third version of iPublisher for coloring books" will have also the feature of adding soundtrack files as well as direct recording of the voice of a narrator. Each soundtrack will be connected with an area that the "publisher" will be able to mark by resizing, overlapping, or just by changing the shapes provided in a program (developer proposes his solution and the employer has to confirm the proposed model). The option will allow a "publisher" to mark the shapes of different character and connect each shape with a soundtrack.
When the coloring book is published, the reader can touch the area that was marked by a "publisher" and the "soundtrack" plays.
Adding administrative page.
Before adding administrative page, the developer will have to send to employer the sketch of the page that will include all the features. The developer starts working on this page after the detailed design of the page will be approved.
The "administrative page" will carry 3 features:
a) the page will show all the pages of the book in a form of icons. It will allow to go to each page directly from the administrative page.
b) there will be restrictive access for the "administrative actions", i.e., there will be a box for typing a "secret word"
When the user uses the book for the first time, he types the word "administrator". (There should be written by small cursive f) Then the other box opens and asks for a short word that the user wants to choose to be his "secret word". Next time the book is open, the both words, "administrator" and "secret word" will activate "administrative access".
(There is no need for a big secrets. The books are for small kids, and we simply do not want them erase all their work.)
c) After typing a "secret word" the administrator will be able to clean up all the book. After working, the administrator has to log-out. If the book will be closed, the administrator automatically is "out".
Milestone #5 adds 2 last features:
a) the administrator will have the capability of "hiding" / "unhiding" the pages in the book (see details in the main description)
b) the administrator will be able to disable/enable the icon "Answer". When disabled, the icon with "A" will disappear on all the pages of the book.
