Custom AOSP ROM

We are looking for a skilled developer to create a Custom AOSP ROM and applets, and assist with hardware integration. The purpose is to have a unique user interface and features, locking it down to perform only functions that we specify, whilst streamlining access to those functions.
We have a specific list of features and customisations that we can discuss in greater detail. Broadly, we need a screen that can communicate with select smart home devices (lights, thermostats, locks, cameras). Later development will include adding controls for smart TV and possibly other devices.
We can be flexible with hardware. We are happy to consider an inexpensive off-the-shelf tablet, or a bespoke system built on Raspberry Pi or similar. There will be multiple users and multiple units, so hardware cost and durability are important factors.
The ideal candidate should have experience in Android development and be knowledgeable in AOSP customisation and UI/UX design. We would prefer to engage someone who can be readily available to work on future upgrades and enhancements as we roll this project out to our other locations.
The project will require attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems. We will require remote assistance with hardware purchasing, installation, and configuration.
We are based in France. We can be somewhat flexible with working hours, but please be aware of our time zone as we can’t work all night.
Communication skills in English are highly important.
What we want is basically something along the lines of a video intercom system, but that also allows tenants to control smart appliances - initially just lights and heating.
