I need assistance editing a new blog I am starting (in concept stage, and desire to start in the next week or two). I'm an older engineer and English sentence structure, rules have always been cryptic at best to me. Also spelling assistance. I have a business website as well that could use the same assistance (and even perhaps my Facebook & Linked in Profiles).
The Blog is to assist multiple people in achieving success that they want, and to produce some clients for 2 other business activities (life coaching & business development) for those that match those opportunities. I actually have charity mentoring experience and have assisted over 100 people over the last 6 years, and 3 to start businesses that are not related to anything I do. All provided as pure charity as I believe that my purpose here on earth is to assist other people to do better - and have found mentoring to be an effective way for that. I intend the Blog to allow most people to progress with simple things to become more successful in life just based on the content of the blog (I'm given my advice and system away).
Assistance on blog/website formatting, client persona development with targeted messages, Keyword and Search Engine Optimization, journalism background, etc. are pluses.
Ability to work with other professionals who may provide graphics, pictures, etc.; although, this will not likely occur until later after the blog is starting to be effective (I have a limited budget at this time - and also need to start slow and see how things work).
Prefer to work with someone who lives in or near Eastern Wisconsin (I live near Manitowoc, WI, and willing to drive several hours to meet you). I would like to be able to meet in person to discuss things from time to time. My experience in life is that business is best done with friendly people you actually get along with. Coffee (or similar) is on me (at least for the 1st meeting) even if we don't drink wen we are together (social distancing and Covid masks, etc). I would like to meet with you in person prior to hiring your services, if possible.
Familiarity with the book "The New Rules of Marketing & PR - 7th Edition" is a plus. It's the guide book I am using on how to transition into Social Media.
Please discuss rates. I would typically expect a good editor to be in the $15 -$30 per hour range; however, I am willing to pay more for right skilled person that meets my "plus" categories or to pay more for specific skilled tasks that require specific expertise (I've billed different portions of engineering projects at $100/hr for general work and $150 - $200/hr for work where my specific expertise was required for that portion of the project).
