US based high tech startup seeks a CMS architect with experience in separating content publishing from production. The candidate must be able to grasp a content mandate and translate it into requirements and recommendations for appropriate tools, platforms, technologies and methods which will enable the team to achieve content goals.
There is a long list of potential content management solutions:
(*) Custom coding a CMS,
(*) Web content managers (WCM),
(*) Static page generators
(*) Monolithic CMS,
(*) Headless and decoupled CMS,
(*) Progressive web apps,
(*) JS frameworks
(*) Portals, and many others.
For our project "content" includes; (*) Data-sets from public and private resources, (*) Computations, (*) Graphs, charts and pictures and (*) Written materials, such as; descriptions, introductions, labels, editorial and analysis.
The website will be user driven, intensely interactive and will require multiple content combinations to support high level decisions. Ultimately, we seek to create spectacular user journey's.
The CMS Architect will work with the systems architect, content authors, user experience specialist, tech lead and the founder. The challenge will be to establish a system or protocol and technology which will enable content authors to create and manage content independent of production. Simply, content developers will decide what's important, when to publish and how to publish.
Ideally, qualified candidates will possess:
(*) Experience working with large economic, social, civic and demographic data-sets from 20-30 more more data sources,
(*) Knowledge of emerging content management systems, and alternative approaches which may produce a more flexible and productive result,
(*) Knowledge of front end, back end and middleware technology,
(*) The ability to grasp our business mission and content requirements and translate them into a suitable technology solution. Lastly,
(*) Startup experience. Time, budget, team considerations and fast, effective ideas are required to pull from harbor into open seas.
This is an hourly, project based assignment with long term potential. Expectations include:
