We were in eBay since 1999 creating our own software to post & price items and maintain customer sales. Our unique applications were created because we could not find any third party that could use it for our needs. The end of last month our hard drive crashed on our server. Don't need the lecture on the need of a backup of our data we are suffering.
We still have all the source codes and recreating our eBay functions.
This is what we accomplished:
1. eBay Motors Parts Compatibility ON STEROIDS: User friendly & cross reference Partslink, interchange & OEM numbers it obtains missing numbers for example it uses the Parts link then gets the missing OEM & interchange if possible. VERY doable to use just one of the Partslink, Hollander & OEM numbers then populate the rest saving time. EVERYTHING created so far by third party's come up short in usability.
2. Constant scan on eBay using Partslink, interchange & OEM numbers to find the lowest price of a part or not offered. Then we post only those that we can make a profit. Valuable because we have access to 25,000 parts and if they can't be sold on eBay at a profit why bother? Saves time & profits increase. The parts we list are the VERY competitive.
3. Created a shipping tracking program that monitors the shipping progress to the customers address. If there is a problem along the way the buyer is notified saving return shipping charges and customer aggravation. Once delivered the buyer gets a unexpected email stating "package delivered, thanks for your business" In the past we had some that called 1 month after shipment saying "where is my package" when online it said was delivered. The delivery notification eliminates this and my contact information is there for any help with the item. DSR's & outside sales go up. Best thing I ever did to make buyers happy.
4. Created a accurate shipping calculator that far exceeds what eBay, Endica, Pitney Bowes do. Accurately compares USPS FedEx & UPS and includes the missing "GIRTH" measurement USPS uses.
There are many other applications we have done for our use.
I was paying anywhere from 4K-7K a month in ebay fees. I interested in getting into lower cost marketing offering first auto parts that are in most cases the lowest around. Second market the unique applications we have created for ourselves to others. What makes the applications great is that we use them ourselves working out the bugs and make improvements where needed,
We are strong on creating the functions to sell online but we lack the knowledge or time to market them.
Let me know if there is any interest.
