We are creating a registration web page for courses we offer, and need to capture sign-up information on two different servers when the registrant hits “Submit”. The page is hosted on an internal web server that also hosts a SQL Server Database (we’ll call it the SQL Host). The page will be a list of about 52 courses with a check box for each course. After the student selects the course(s) he wants and enters registration info and clicks the submit button, we want to capture the data into our SQL Server database on the SQL Host. In addition we want to redirect to the shopping cart on our off-site commerce website (we’ll call it the Commerce Host) and populate the cart with the items (courses) the user selected so he can pay for it. Each course is represented on the Commerce Host as two purchasable items, the deposit fee and the course fee each having its own unique item number.
We need to know how to submit the data to the database and then redirect to the shopping cart with the proper data. That page is where we want the user to end up, so that all he needs to do is check out.
