I currently have an online coupon site at www.peninsulaonline.com.
I want to change it in an inexpensive method, and believe CRE Loader (the ecommerce shopping cart that is open source) might work with modifications. To begin with, the new site will be nationwide. I will be posting local coupons from cities all over the US. I want the following modifications:
1. The shopping cart will actually display coupons (and not products for sale). There will be no purchasing of the coupons. Rather, the coupons should be printalble. IN ADDITION, the coupons should be able to be sent to someone's cell phone via text messaging. I understand I might need an additional service incorporated for this.
2. When someone starts looking for a particular coupon, they must first search by city, zip or college. If they enter New York City, for example, a "storefront" of only those coupons available in that city will be shown.
3. This storefront will look just like a CRE storefront, i.e., different categories and sub-categories. For example, there will be Restaurants, Car Services, Real Estate. Under each category, there will be sub-categories. For ex., under Restaurants there will be Fast Food, Pizza, Italian, etc.
4. Each "storefront" will display the most popular coupons (viewed, and printed).
Alternatively, if you want to build this site from the beginning, with substantial admin, I will consider as well. I have a powerpoint presentation I've prepared that shows in greater detail what the site consists of, and willing to share it to those who are serious developers.
I am available to discuss complete requirements by phone or email.
Looking to start (and finish) this project asap.
