MS Access: Database needed to track users (3 fields of info) and local businesses (12-15 fields). Database needs to track what businesses users recommend. Database needs to "find" businesses that serve certain zip codes in the US. Businesses need to be identified by key words; i.e. law, lawyer, legal, etc. Website: Database will be put up on a Network Solutions hosted web site and accessed via the web pages. Web hosting provides: Perl, ASP, ASP.NET, Server Side Includes. So I'm guessing those are how the database communicates with the web pages. This project is a prototype to prove a business model, and should be quick and simple. If the business model proves valid, we envision building a version two in April. After that, based on growth we'll need to build a much more robust database using MS SQL. Recap: need to have a relational database built in Access that allows users to recommend a business based on a referral number that is automatically generated. Businesses must be able to have multiple key words that describe their service and select multiple zip codes that they serve. Time: I expect this project can be completed in no more than four hours. It really is a small database, but that's the idea. Small to start and then we'll build from there.
